PNG favicon and PWA icon generator
Use your app artwork for browser tabs, home screens, and installable web apps. Export correctly sized PNGs and a starter web app manifest.
Create web icons ↗What the web export includes
Select Website / PWA in the studio to generate six square PNG icons and a site.webmanifest file. The ZIP includes:
| Size | Common use |
|---|---|
| 16 × 16, 32 × 32, 48 × 48 | Browser tab and shortcut PNGs |
| 180 × 180 | Apple touch icon artwork |
| 192 × 192, 512 × 512 | PWA icon entries in the web manifest |
The export produces PNG files; it does not include a legacy .ico file. Browsers can use a PNG favicon through a rel="icon" link.
How to add the icons to your website
- Upload your source PNG and select Website / PWA.
- Download the ZIP and copy the
Web/iconsfiles into your public assets folder. - Link a PNG favicon in your page head, for example
<link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="32x32" href="/icons/icon-32.png">. - If your site is a PWA, edit the manifest name, colors, and paths to suit your project, then link it from the page head.
The included manifest is a starting point; it does not make a website installable by itself.
Design for small favicon sizes
At 16 × 16 pixels, thin text and fine details disappear. Use a clear silhouette, strong contrast, and enough space around the mark. Preview at actual browser-tab size before publishing.
See web.dev's manifest guide for current PWA setup details.
